Google Maps

This puzzling photo has provoked a furious debate online after it was spotted by an internet-user in the Netherlands.

Taken from the air by Google Maps photographers, it shows two figures on a secluded jetty in a park in Almere - near Amsterdam.

Murder conspiracists are convinced the shape on the right is a body and the wet mark on the wooden decking is a grisly trail of blood.

Although its impossible to zoom in close enough to be sure - the figure does resemble a human body lying down, with the head on the right and the feet on the left.

Using Googles distance-measuring tool it also appears to be a little over five feet long.

A body-shaped smudge of red on the right of the shot also makes it look as though a corpse has been dragged along the pier before being flipped over.

But online sceptics are convinced theres an innocent explanation to the photo - insisting the body is either wet dog which has been swimming in the lake or a dead animal that is being gutted.

Local police have been sent the pic - but the photo was taken by Google 2009, so theres unlikely to be any evidence left to investigate.
